Dreadful Behaviour!

We here at WOP humbly apologise, there hasn't been any posts since February! What can we say? 'Bananas'. Oh and 'hampton'.
In other words, we have been rather busy with....ahem...real life commitments. But rest assured, normal business will be resolved very soon.....

I heard that Nev is planning something but he isn't letting on. He simply said ''It's going to be...something''.

As for the rest of the posse? Well, I'm afraid disarray has set in! Kevin Ketley was sent off to Malaga to report on the Tortilla Flinging Championships but has not checked in. Des Silverfish is looking at opening a used car lot in Bending, and even the other half of the WOP squad Babbington has announced that he would like to join the Mongolian Circus and their travelling fragrant monkeys.

So it's up to Nev to hold things together with his string vest!

Oh dear....

New posts coming soon Pooters (hopefully!)

Return of the Babbington!

So there's a new poll... And rightly so.

"Where has Babbington been?" I hear you cry!

Well, my dear Pooters, I have been all over the place,
gathering some beautiful, um, material for your delectation.

You lot were never far from my heart... It's good to be back.

And that's all that matters, really.

On my travels, I went to all the best amusement parks...

I saw how the 'Nev Effect' swept across the nation...

I enjoyed 'food on the go' at fashionable high street outlets...

I even took time to get cultured and educated...
(Who'd have thought 'quoin' was an actual word - as apposed to, say, a
word made up during the heat of battle that can often be Scrabble - eh, Mitch?!)

So, by all means, partake of the poll on the left here, but fear not - there is plenty more to come from my wanderings... including some exciting new releases from WOP International which I saw in prototype stage in our secret potato-lined underground bunker!

Thanks you for missing me, one and all.
Thank you.

Babbington In New A-Team Movie!!

Another WOP Exclusive!!!! Our very own Babbington is going to star in the new A Team movie out next year. He will play the part of Mister T as played by B.A. Bbington in the orginal eighties tv series. Our Neville has been tipped to play the part of Howling Mad Burdock, but this is not confirmed at this stage....

Babbington yesterday

But who could play Hannibal Smith? Who knows? We don't that's for sure.
The A Team was one of the biggest television series ever in the world in the eighties. So was Airwolf and Street Hawk. And who can forget Knight Rider? Ooh what about Manimal? Ahhh...classics.
So how will our very own Babbington shape up in the role? We asked our very own film critic Barry Pokevest for his view....

''Sure, at first glance you'd think he'd be absolutely terrible. Maybe he will, I think he will - but it's not my view that's been asked for here....''

Thank you Barry! So what do YOU think! Let us know, will Babbington be:

a) Good
or
b) Rubbish

Vote now!

Babbington's World Of Shirts Special!

Oooh, as we edge closer to our 100th post, we thought we'd share this 'special' gallery of images of shirts as worn by our very own Babbington. We caught up with him parading his glorious collection, from floral swirls to flashy primaries.....

I think you'll agree that he looks the part.

Now we await inspiration for the next landmark post!!

Babbington - The Vandal - Returns!!!

Oh dear me, just as you thought the recent spate of vandalism using the good name of 'Babbington' was finally over, it appears that a new imposter is re-igniting it all over again!

The arrest of, erm, whatsisname who pretended to be our very own Babbington recently had caused the hysteria to die down. Now it loks as if a copy cat vandal is stalking the streets of our country, starting in Wales!

Wait a minute, hasn't the actual real life Babbington been to Wales lately? Hmmm.....

More investigation is needed!

Babbington Poot - Travels!

This week our own Babbington is off on a national tour of the UK, taking with him his trademark charm and potatoes to wow the natives.

One wonders what delightful WOP related imagery he'll bring back with him!

In the meantime, here he is on his travels......

Babbington's Birthday!

.

Well would you believe it, yesterday was my birthday!

I would just like to thank all those people who made it such a wonderful day.... Hmm... yeah, so like I said, I'd like to, but... well... I can only assume that there must have been a postal strike and also a great deal of traffic on the roads or summat, judging by the turn-out!

Still, on the plus side, I was fortunate to receive literally 'some' cards!

Anyway, a special shout-out has to go to Neville, who contacted me on the eve of my Birthday, as he was due to engage in a hectic schedule of bus-spotting duties on my birthday itself. Don't worry, Nev - I made a good job of polishing off a bottle of red and a whole chocolate cake, sat on my lonesome in the central corridor that connects the North and South Wings here at WOP HQ.

Neville was full of beans for the duration of our conversation.
I can imagine the smell must have been quite stifling.

And, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, I am able to share with you, dear readers, the delightful gifts which our ever-aromatic buck-toothed anti-hero so very kindly sent my way. Even the packaging doubled up as a rather fetching and snazzy hat, as can be seen in the picture at the top of this post!

Nev - I still remain, quite simply, lost for words!

Who would have thought that Nev's Gran was such a looker?!
And with such an illustrious card-modelling career, too!

I can't wait to listen to this when I get a quiet moment
... and a cassette player!

This one, too!

Not sure what he was getting at with these...
but much appreciated, all the same!

WOP-approved, naturally!
For more quality merchandise, check out WOP International!

And finally...

Nothing says 'Happy Birthday' quite like a good bit
of Spy Mission apparatus!

'Watch' this space for more spy-based updates soon!

Babbington Imposter Revealed!

The WOP Police have been working tirelessly to get hold of the vandal that has been erm... vandalising out streets nationwide. And yesterday, he was caught in the act!

We can reveal that the imposter was Frank Dolby, 46 from Spittle.

The reasons for doing this are still unclear, but he was seen been carried away in the police van screaming 'I did it all for art...'.

So who is 'art'? Perhaps he was avenging someone..who knows, but we're glad to say that it's all over now and there will be never any more news of the Babbington Vandalism again...

Ever.

The Return Of The Vandal!

.

Just as things were starting to quieten down on the Babbington/vandal/wall artist front, lo and behold! I stumbled on this new one in the town of Swimp. It was still fairly wet, so our imposter couldn't have gone too far.

I feel the net may be closing in - who knows, the true identity of this so called 'Babbington' may be revealed very soon... ;)

In case you can't make out what out phantom scribbler has said, it's ''Babbington Is Back!''

Babbington Strikes Again!

This is quite extraordinary. I think we've established the the vandal from the last post is not the same Babbington, the other half of the WOP team. However, there does seem to be a blight of these tags all over the country. Once again, on my travels, I've encountered several, here are a few.....

Phone box on a council estate in Greeb.

'Shared Messages' on a shop front in Thwick High Street.

How did he get up there?? This railway bridge in Muckler's Common illustratrates that this Babbington is quite an acrobat!

We must get to the bottom of this, to find out the true identity of this other Babbington. This imposter of the name 'Babbington' must be exposed! Keep 'em peeled folks.

Babbington - The Vandal!

.

It appears that on my travels this week - I stumbled upon this tagged wall in the village of Nutty. Far be it for me to presume that our very own Babbington was responsible for this - unless there is another Babbington out there. It's best not to think too much about that.....;)

Well, I don't know. Dreadful behaviour....

The Joker...possibly

Unless you're living under a rock, or in Kidderminster - you'll no doubt be aware that the latest Batman film 'The Dark Knight' will be out at the cinemas at the end of this week. Already there are rumours to whom could play The Joker if his role was reprised later in the series.

Normally, our Neville would be the first to step up to the challenge, but he's been so overworked lately and is already playing the rear part of Bambi in 'Bambi Legacy'- the new live action film out later in the year.

So, as a good second choice - how about Babbington? He loves a joke and has been known to wear purple from time to time.

So this is how our very own Babbington may look as the Clown Of Evil!

Holy Poot!

Up The Garden Path

What could be more quintessentially British than the good old-fashioned English country garden, eh?!

Well, I don't have one of those. But I do have a veggie patch. OK, so I don't have one of them either - but I do have a few pots, tubs and troughs dotted about outside the kitchen, into which I have planted various veggies. And with such precision that there now appears to be a fine crop developing.

Sounds nice, doesn't it? "Life's rosey in the 'garden' at Chez Babbington" I hear you say. Well all is not as it may seem!

Look, you're missing the point here. The thing is, I have slugs. At least, that's what I assume I have. Certainly, the lettuces (or should that be letti? lettuci?) aren't too chuffed. Sure they have sun and water (no speed boat, but then what would they do with one of those?!). Trouble is, sun and water ain't no good if you're being devoured daily.

Boo hiss, slug!
(photo: buygardendecor.com, via Google images)

Actually, thinking about it, if lettuces/letti/lettuci did have a speed boat, they could plan an escape during a heavy rain storm. Ooh, that's a point - how about a sailing boat? We have lots of wind in this country (poot!). Ooh, ooh, ooh, I've got it! Air balloons. That's what lettuces/letti/lettuci need. It's obvious, when you think about it. Isn't it? Ah. Maybe it's just me then.

But I digress...

The point is this: some low-down, good-for-nothing, slimey garden-based creature, some thieving tea leaf, has been helping itself to our lettuces/letti/lettuci. I've yet to find the culprit, but when I do... er... oh.

I'll probably just move it to one side. I'm not an animal.

Don't even get me started on the spinach!

Meet The Babbington!

In case you were wondering who the other half of this 'creative' duo was - I can reveal this picture of him. To be fair, he had been up all night counting his blessings. He got to 79.

So behold, here is The Babbington!
