Introducing: Lavender Pastures with Gregory & Hugh

WOP proudly introduce a couple of new characters this week! They're a bit like 'The Two Daves' but more.....floral.

Drag Duo Gregory and Hugh Lavender reminisce of their glorious and glitzy lives - back in the good old days when they used to grace many a stage with frocks and gowns and sang like a couple of nightingales.

These days however, they run an out of the way bed and breakfast on the fringe of the village of Spoon and now sound like a couple of crows....

Join us as we look back at their star filled lives!

Christmas WOP: At Home With Neville - Again!

Following on from our recent discovery of a vintage recording of 'At Home With Neville', we have unearthed another episode! This is somewhat more amazing, as this slice of life with Neville called 'A Date With Disappointment' stars our other WOP regulars, Art Bear and Kevin Ketley. Incredible...!
They all have aged so well, especially Bear it has to said.

In this one Neville agrees to meet Art Bear and Kevin in the pub, he seems estranged in these surroundings as he has only been in the pub once for some peanuts and a Babycham years ago! Events unfold as he meets Anna, a young girl from Latvia....... What will happen?

Tune in and see!

Are these the only two survivng episodes of the series? Who knows.....*

*Possibly, yes.

Christmas WOP: At Home With Neville!

It seems there is even more to our Nev than meets the bad eye - he starred in his very own radio series on WOP RADIO* back in 1959 ( I know that would make him older than he is - but try not to think about it too much, just go with it) called 'At Home With Neville'.

With characters like Mrs Thompson played by Patty EggGrinder and the vicar played by Edwin Frumps (uncredited because he physically assaulted the studio goldfish), we get a glimpse of 1950's suburban life with our Nev.
This was the series which gave rise to some of his famous catchphrases like 'It's bitter out!' and 'I've cut his leg off!'

In many ways this was a groundbreaking programme. Not our words - but Neville's.

We managed to track down this vintage episode called 'A Snowy Day' first aired December 2 1959, exactly 51 years ago!!

Doesn't he hide his age well? Really well actually.

Anyway, as I said, don't dwell - simply enjoy this classic radio gem!

*WOP RADIO became defunct in 1977 and was then merged with POOTSOUND.

Nev's latest production - trailer

A belated Happy New Year to you, dear Pooters! We trust you had a suitably random holiday season? We certainly did. Well, you have to keep up appearances, don't you?!

2009, eh? Ah, takes me back to '82. But that's another matter.

As for this one, what a year it's going to be! Here at WOP HQ, we've already got ahead of ourselves, making the most the Christmas and New Year break. With appearances from the likes of Neville, Kevin Ketley, and That Bloke With The Camera (not heard of him? Patience, grasshopper - all will be revealed in good time), things are already looking good!

So, to kick off 2009, World Of Poot Productions brings you the following trailer for Nev's latest mini-film - "Into The Past" - where he's all-consumed by history! And what a belter the film is, too; with the support of his new company, Cheestring Multimedia, things are going from strength to strength for our hapless anti-hero - just check out his new kagool! Very swish.

So grab your bobble hat and Thermos, sit back, and enjoy this little teaser...

Kevin Ketley's Sound-a-like

In the parlance of our dear sports commentator, Kevin Ketley...

"Well..."

Enjoy!

(oh, and by the way, there's a tiny bit of 'foul' language in this one - so you might want to go do the ironing or something instead of watching!)

Barry's Book Corner

This month, Barry's recommendation has been very much inspired by the events of last weekend's poot-fest, here at WOP HQ. With so much 'entertainment' on offer, he was surely spoilt for choice!

And so... this outing's recommendation is none other than "Practical Jokes To Play On Her", as published by Kudos.

Fittingly, this little gem can be found subtly wedged on top of a whoopie cushion, sneakily hidden within a living room sofa - no doubt just waiting for a poor unsuspecting victim to 'discover' it!

Clearly, our man is easily pleased. Once he had stopped laughing at the sounds of fabricated flatulence, we were able to extract his summing-up: "Sometimes, you just can't beat the classics. Forget all your i-dongs and megapips, tradition is the bedrock of good, clean home entertainment!"

Wise words indeed, Barry, and we look forward to next month's glowing recommendation.

Present Yourself!

I have sat through many presentations in my time.
None tickled me quite as much as this one.

Enjoy!

Crouching Tiger, Stumbling Fool

No doubt many of you film boffins will have seen this already, but it has
only just come to our attention. Oh, how we laughed!

All we can say is - better luck next time, dude.

Enjoy!

The World Of Poot's Guide To Rude Signs. This week: Hereford

Well, I have spent the past weekend up in Herefordshire, and upon my stumbling about the place, I was lucky to snap these gems. Perhaps this might become a regular feature, who knows!

But perhaps the clear winner is......

It's all out there readers, so we hope we've inspired you to do a bit of Rude Sign Spotting!
