Christmas WOP: At Home With Neville - Again!

Following on from our recent discovery of a vintage recording of 'At Home With Neville', we have unearthed another episode! This is somewhat more amazing, as this slice of life with Neville called 'A Date With Disappointment' stars our other WOP regulars, Art Bear and Kevin Ketley. Incredible...!
They all have aged so well, especially Bear it has to said.

In this one Neville agrees to meet Art Bear and Kevin in the pub, he seems estranged in these surroundings as he has only been in the pub once for some peanuts and a Babycham years ago! Events unfold as he meets Anna, a young girl from Latvia....... What will happen?

Tune in and see!

Are these the only two survivng episodes of the series? Who knows.....*

*Possibly, yes.

Christmas WOP: A Christmas Carol

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, the WOP production team are back! We promised you something big..well....this IS big. Epic one might say. Grandiose even.

To celebrate the return of WOP and I suppose Christmas should get a mention too - WOP proudly present 'A Christmas Carol' starring our very own Neville Cheestring as Ebeneezer Cheestring and narrated by Kevin Ketley.

Pooters, it doesn't get any bigger or better than this - and for that, we're sorry.

So let us rejoice in the return of WOP and Nev, and kick start the countdown to Christmas.

Crank the play button, let it stream a little and enjoy :)

WOP At Christmas: Kevin Ketley!

Christmas just wouldn't be the same without some festive music and trust us, this Christmas won't be the same. Especially if you get the forthcoming CD from Kevin Ketley 'I'm Dreaming Of A White Kevin'. (available from the WOP Shop and selected 24 hour garages soon at only £3.99)
Crammed full of seasonal showstoppers such as Silent Night and I Caught Momma Doing Something With Santa.

To give you a little taster of what to expect from the album, here is a little erm...taster.

No one does medleys like our Kev!

If this doesn't get you in the mood, then you might as well forget Christmas altogether. No, really.

Kevin Ketley Presents...The Grand PlasticToy Penny Farthing Racing Final

Well......!

He's back, and this time it's plastic toys!

Kev gets the strangest jobs, and this is certainly up there. This is one of the fastest sports going, so you really do have to keep your eyes on this footage....blink - and it's over!

Oh and yes - we don't know why the WOP Sport Logo was missing from the video after upload either.... It doesn't matter.

Kevin Ketley Reports: Herne Bay Festival 2009

Well.....yes it's time for more ad-lib from our sports expert, Kevin Ketley. Quite why he gets given these commentating jobs that has nothing to do with sport remains a bit of a mystery - but he needs the work.
This time he is in Herne Bay for the opening parade at the start of the week long festival.

Sadly we don't get coverage of the fireworks that followed, Kevin had discovered a pub nearby and he was there for most of the festival. He's drying out even now.

Still, he knew what he was doing.....

Whitstable Oyster Festival 2009 - With Kevin Ketley

Well.....it's been a glorious summer day and our Kev' was in Whitstable, Kent, to bring us coverage of the start of the annual Oyster Festival. A slight diversion from the usual sports programmes he covers - but nonetheless most poot-worthy!

The carnival atmosphere was felt around the harbour town, and Kevin certainly enjoyed the carnival atmosphere of the pubs after. He confesses he has never tried an oyster and never will. He can't stand the things. They remind him of his ex-wife apparently.

The BBC have Wimbledon and Football. We have Oysters.
So enjoy the summer with Kevin Ketley.

Munching-On-Sea Donkey Race Final With Kevin Ketley

Our sports commentator Kevin Ketley braved the summer sun last weekend and headed off to the coast to bring us coverage of the The Munching- On- Sea Donkey Race Durex Challenge Cup 2009.

It was a hot day, and even the donkeys looked a bit tired.....

The winner 'Abbots Ankle' came over the finishing line in a record time of 15 hours and 35 minutes.

The other donkeys, plus their riders, headed off to the nearest bar. I think we know who the true winners were that day......

Babbingtons Biscuits Chess Masters Final 2008

With Kevin Ketley......

Last year we tried to bring you footage of this prestigious event in the chess game calendar, but was outwitted by the gremlins of Blogger!
We thought we'd give it another go. Prepare to see this post vanish very quickly if it all goes wrong again!

Fingers crossed Kevin!

Pootball - New Years Eve Final 2008

Due to an unprecedented level of harrassment from certain regular Pooters (you know who you are!), the boys at Poot Sport have rummaged around in the archives and dug out the un-broadcast footage from last year's Babbington's Biscuits Pootball New Years Eve Final - live and direct from the Poot Arena!

Incidentally, mention is made in the commentary of last year's Extreme Scrabble event. You can feast your eyes on this here.

So then. Sit back, straighten your shin guards and join us
as we take another trip to
Slapper-on-the-Common to enjoy
these extraordinary levels of something or other.

Ladies, gentlemen, cushions and flapjacks, welcome...
to Pootball!

(Let this baby buffer - she's 22 mins 41 sec, see)

Kevin Ketley's Sound-a-like

In the parlance of our dear sports commentator, Kevin Ketley...

"Well..."

Enjoy!

(oh, and by the way, there's a tiny bit of 'foul' language in this one - so you might want to go do the ironing or something instead of watching!)

Neville's Bat-Blooper!

As reported in WOP News earlier this week:

Forever under the misguieded belief that it is a good thing to make a 'striking and dramatic' entrance to public events, our star of the recent 'Bat Nev' blockbuster - Neville Cheestring - somehow managed to convince the owners of the original 1989 Bat Man car to let him drive their machine to the recent Pride of Britain awards.

He neglected to tell them that he only has a provisional licence... and that being for use only with agricultural machinery. More alarming, perhaps, is that at no point did the owners think to check Neville's credentials. Oh, the humanity!

Having taken the second-to-last corner of his approach at a stealthy 11 miles per hour, Nev proceeded to career straight across the following corner, up the facing pavement (making a brief visit to a flower boarder containing a range of hardy perennials), before travelling backwards for 15 metres - at which point he came to rest in an uncannily tidy fashion on the red carpet.

When asked by reporters for his immediate thoughts, Neville said simply "Well... It's not not like my beloved Massey Ferguson, that's for sure. Not in the slightest! Just before the corner, I had a bit of bother getting to grips with the knob thingy - I can always find my knob thingy in the Massey".

Poor old Nev - he really doesn't help himself, does he?!

More donations

Regular (and I use that term very loosly) readers will recall my delight at receiving a cheque from our very own Neville Cheestring recently - as noted here.

Well, would you believe it, I received another cheque today - this time from WOP's No.1 (and, frankly, only) sports pundid, Kevin Ketley:

Am I once again delighted? Sadly, no.

My initial elation was shortlived when, on closer inspection, I discovered that Mr. Ketley 'forgot' to sign his cheque. The swine.

An innocent mistake? Pah! This is not the first time he's pulled such a stunt. On one occasion, back in mid 2007, having boasted of a win at the annual Pavement Crack Avoidance Agility Contest up at Dangle Yerbitsthen in Yorkshire, he 'donated' 43,000 pesetas to help start the ball rolling for the WOP International Hotel renovation.

Hmmm...

Something is starting to smell decidedly fishy around here - but then, that's probably just Mitch.

Fishing World Cup 2008 - Semi Final

Join World Of Poot Sport's veteran commentator Kevin Ketley live at Belchford Lake, for this crucial World Cup semi final. Proof if needed that fishing is an edge of the seat sport, and more so for the spectator....
Expect more summer treats such as the European Baked Bean Rally in Stuttgart and the Babbington's Biscuits One Ball Pool shoot off in Grimmington.
